Train Transfer Conveyor Maintenance
Our client experienced a recurring problem with train transfer conveyors. These conveyors, powered by diesel engines with hydraulic pumps, faced a common issue – their hoses dragged on the ground during movement, leading to ruptures under pressure. This not only disrupted operations but also posed a potential risk to the overall functionality of the conveyors.
Our Approach
Recognizing the importance of a systematic approach to address the operational challenge, we took a collaborative effort to establish a strategic maintenance plan for the train transfer conveyors.
The Solution
The strategic maintenance plan was designed to enhance the reliability and longevity of the train transfer conveyors, addressing both immediate issues and implementing preventive measures:
- Partnership with the Manufacturer: Davis Industrial established a relationship with the conveyor manufacturer, gaining access to essential parts and technical details related to various transfer conveyors. This partnership ensured a comprehensive understanding of the conveyors' specifications.
- Comprehensive Maintenance Interventions: Leveraging insights from the manufacturer relationship, Davis Industrial executed a series of comprehensive maintenance interventions. This included changing 11 filters, oil, hydraulic fluid, bag house cartridges, and emergency hose replacements. Additionally, hydraulic lever blocks and car vibrators were added to improve functionality.
The collaborative effort with the conveyor manufacturer, coupled with the meticulous maintenance interventions, demonstrated our commitment to being an all-in-one conveyor solution partner.
