Davis at Southeast Recycling Conference

That’s a Wrap on the Southeast Recycling Conference & Trade Show

This past week, Davis Industrial had the opportunity to exhibit at the Southeast Recycling Conference & Trade Show at the Hilton Sandestin in Miramar Beach, Florida — and it was time well spent.

The recycling industry continues to evolve, and this event made one thing clear: operators, OEMs, and municipalities are looking for reliable partners who understand the realities of material handling in demanding environments.

We were proud to be part of those conversations.

Real Conversations. Real Challenges.

We connected with MRF operators, recyclers, municipalities, and equipment OEMs throughout the show. One common theme stood out:

Recycling environments are tough on equipment.

Belts run through abrasive materials. Components wear quickly. Downtime is expensive. And when service is needed, it needs to be handled by crews who understand the equipment.

Several key topics surfaced repeatedly:

Vulcanized Splicing in Harsh Conditions

There was strong interest in vulcanized splices and their ability to deliver superior strength and durability. In recycling applications where belts see heavy loads, sharp materials, and constant operation, mechanical splices simply aren’t always enough.

Our belt splicing expertise resonated with many attendees who are looking for long-term performance, not temporary fixes.

Component Wear & Hard Parts Availability

Component wear continues to be a major concern across recycling facilities. From pulleys to lagging to structural components, operators need access to hard parts quickly — and they need them installed properly.

Davis Industrial supports customers not just with parts supply, but with the field crews to put them into service.

Fabrication & Custom Solutions

Fabrication upgrades were another frequent discussion. Recycling facilities don’t always operate in standard configurations. Custom chutes, guarding, structural modifications, and conveyor upgrades are often required.

With our in-house fabrication capabilities, we’re positioned to help facilities design and build solutions that work specifically for their operation.

Automatic Lubrication Systems

Interest in automatic lubricating systems — including brands like Perma — also gained traction. Preventative maintenance and extending component life remain top priorities for facilities focused on maximizing uptime.

Supporting OEMs in the Recycling Space

One of the most encouraging takeaways from the show was the number of equipment OEMs seeking experienced service crews.

That’s our bread and butter.

Whether it’s assisting with installations, performing field service, supporting rebuilds, or handling belt work on recycling equipment, Davis Industrial is built to support the manufacturers who power this industry.

We don’t just supply parts.
We show up and do the work.

A Growing Commitment to the Recycling Industry

The Southeast Recycling Conference reinforced what we already believe:

Recycling is not slowing down.

As facilities expand, equipment becomes more advanced, and material streams grow more complex, the need for knowledgeable conveyor and service partners will only increase.

Davis Industrial is committed to being that partner.

From belt splicing and component replacement to fabrication and specialty systems, we operate in this space and understand the demands of it.

Let’s Continue the Conversation

If we connected at the show — thank you for the conversation.

If we missed you, but you operate in the recycling industry and need support with:

    • Conveyor belt splicing (including vulcanized solutions)
    • Component wear and hard parts
    • Field service crews
    • Fabrication upgrades
    • Automatic lubrication systems

We’d welcome the opportunity to talk.

Recycling facilities can’t afford guesswork. They need experience, responsiveness, and practical solutions.

That’s what we bring to the table.

We look forward to continuing to grow our footprint in the recycling industry — and helping more operations keep material moving efficiently.
